At SWPS we hire employees not independent contractors because it is very important to us that we train and mentor our employees under the SWPS philosophy.  In addition our team members have awesome credentials – they aren’t just any old pet lovers.

Ann, who founded Small World out of her life-long love of animals, can be seen around the neighborhood on daily dog walks, on her bike, creating artistic pet portraits with her camera, making “happy books” – her scrapbooks filled with home design ideas, or sitting at a café on Cortelyou Road. Ann is American Red Cross certified in Cat and Dog First Aid and CPR. She is also certified in the Usui System of Reiki Healing, level one. The cats and dogs sure do love it.

Boni, often seen around the neighborhood with a really large dog on the end of a leash, can also be seen pedaling about on one of his two mountain bikes. Since his overgrown kitchen garden leaves him little room to sit at his nearby painter’s easel, he puts his green thumb to good use in his building’s outdoor garden that he started with his wife, Ann.  He also makes a mean guacamole.

Fiona moved from Germany to NYC over 25 years ago and is happy to call this city home. She founded her own successful art studio where she specializes in restoring and creating art in glass, metal and stone. Fiona is also a very talented artist and uses multiple mediums to express herself. Animals have always been her secret love and grew up with cats and had wanted to be a veterinarian from an early age. However she chose the path of art and dance. She is able to bring her love of animals to pet sitting for SWPS. In her spare time Fiona spends time with good friends and in nature.

Sally is a Brooklyn College student majoring in English. Outside of school, she is working for educational equity, organizing with her community, and taking care of furry friends in the neighborhood! Her bond with cats began at age 8 when her family adopted two kittens, but she’s loved animals since she can remember. In her free time, Sally can be found browsing the shelves in used bookstores and cooking for friends and family.

Dena is studying History at Brooklyn College. She’s always loved animals and grew up with cats, a dog, and horses in Upstate New York. Her first job was working at a pet store where she found she loved working with pets of all varieties. In her free time, Dena can be found tending to her plants, enjoying Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, and spending time with friends.
